At that time Jesus declared, “I thank you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that you have hidden these things from the wise and understanding and revealed them to little children; Praise God for sending us Jesus! The Word in the Flesh! The message of salvation can only be received by those willing to hear it. We must approach the kingdom of heaven as a child, not full of pride and content in our own wisdom. Such men were the Pharisees and Scribes who sought to execute Jesus. (See Prov 26:2, Isaiah 5:21, Mark:10-15)
All things have been handed over to me by my Father, and no one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and anyone to whom the Son chooses to reveal him. Only through Jesus are we granted access to heaven, only through Jesus can we have a relationship with God. Jesus is the truth, the way, and the life.
Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Follow Jesus. All other pursuits are vain, as lamented by the author of Ecclesiastes. To Labor and toil is the curse brought upon us by the fall of Adam. (See Genesis 3:17) The troubles of a sinful world and the guilt of our own sin weigh heavily upon our souls. Jesus carries these for us. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, Submit to the authority of Jesus, as the Son of God. Its a yoke of love, mercy, compassion, humility, and faith. Follow his commands to love God above all else, and love our neighbors as ourselves. for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. Jesus does not discriminate, he welcomes all who seek him. Only in Jesus can you find rest for you soul for eternity. The prideful arrogant soul is in constant turmoil; the meek soul finds peace. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” Because it is a yoke of love, not destruction. True, Christians face difficulty in a world of sin. Yet these challenges result in great spiritual growth, and a strong relationship with Jesus, who is a constant aid in our trials. Nothing in the world can offer what Christ does here: redemption, forgiveness, and peace eternal.
