God is merciful (Jonah 3), Commentary

Jonah submits to  God and delivers his message.  If we believe Jesus, we admit our sins, and accept him as our savior. We believe we will come to judgement. Many reject Jesus, and reject God, and his gift of mercy.  The Ninevites believed and feared God. They knew their sin- they did not scoff or dismiss the notion. They repented, and called to God to spare them, and God heard them. He  took compassion on them, and relented. God waits for us to return to him. In our own nation, in these times of chaos, we should turn to God.
